After-School

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hancock County provide fun, educational options for Hancock County and nearby youth throughout the year. Members have the opportunity to participate in both national and local programs designed to encourage them to realize a wide variety of positive outcomes.

BGCHC After-School serves youth ages 5-18 and offers a Junior Staff program for youth entering grades 9th-12th. After-School at the Jim Andrews Unit operates between 2 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Our Eastern Hancock Extension is hosted at Eastern Hancock Elementary with before-school operating from 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on 2-hr delays) and after-school support from dismissal – 6 p.m. Club facilities are handicap accessible. Our Fortville Extension operates out of the Fortville Community Center and provides after-school support from 2 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We are limited in the number of youth that we are able to transport from J.B. Stephens Elementary school. Please utilize this free service only if your youth plans to attend most days each week, as our transportation waitlist grows throughout the school year. All other GC members will have the opportunity receive transportation from the schools to our Jim Andrews Club Site. We are again able to provide free transportation from Brandywine Elementary school to our Jim Andrews location and are limited in space. Finally, our Fortville Extension is able to provide limited transportation from Mt. Comfort Elementary, Fortville Elementary, Mt. Vernon Middle & High Schools. We are attempting to find means to transport from McCordsville Elementary.

In order to register as a participant at BGCHC After-School 2024-25, all youth MUST be or become current Club members. To learn how to become a member at the Boys & Girls Club, please call (317) 462-2404, or click here!

Monthly session price will be $75/month. This price is NOT pro-rated for any un-attended days. Daily session price will be $5/day for before-school care at Eastern Hancock. Any future paid months will only be credited forward. No refunds are issued. Break fees are $5/day and are not included in the month price. They are also not covered by Anthem, so they must be paid out of pocket per youth attending Fall, Winter, or Spring Breaks. These sessions must be registered.

Scholarship applications are available through our After-School Application process and applications will be available starting July 1st. Scholarship applications will be due by August 1st, 2024, and decisions will be made shortly after applications are due.  If your family took advantage of the Anthem assistance program during the 23-24 School Year, Anthem will continue to support those families whose child is covered by Anthem’s version of Medicaid (Hoosier Healthwise or Hoosier Care Connect) by covering the cost of each Month attended of $75.00. Current Insurance Card must be shown in order to be enrolled in this program. Any further assistance needed will need to be received through a scholarship program.
